Mmm… yummy… take part in our Easter Egg trail for only £1 per child. Available at any point during normal opening hours. Saturday 28th March until Sat 11th April
An exciting Saxon themed day will take place on Easter Monday, 6 April 2015, 10.00am to 5.00 pm. Entrance to the event is free.
Families will be able to enjoy a range of activities including coil pot making and decorating, wood-turning on a pole lathe, striking an Anglo-Saxon coin and seeing a stone sculptor at work. There will also be games, trails and much more!
Susie Simmons, Visitor Services Manager, said, “We are delighted to be able to use the museum courtyard for this event, as it makes such a stunning venue. After the success of the visit of the Alfred Jewel, we are pleased to be able to offer an event which helps us understand more about life during Saxon times.”
Visitors to the museum will also be able to see the recently-acquired sculpture of St Peter, a nationally important object, probably dating from about AD 1040.
